Limbang Division

Dear Residents & Friends of Limbang,

Welcome to our Limbang microsite!

We are one of the four divisions within Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC – We are part of the bigger community and yet retain our own distinctive and unique character.

Limbang is the oldest part of Yew Tee, and we are now undergoing significant transformation. As part of our masterplan, residents can look forward to increased accessibility and convenience, active lifestyles within our neighbourhood, shared spaces for intergenerational bonding, among other exciting developments.

A redeveloped Choa Chu Kang Sport Centre and the upcoming SAFRA Club at Choa Chu Kang Park are some of the exciting developments in our midst. The revamped Limbang Shopping Centre will also be ready by the end of this year.

We are also continuing with various upgrading programmes for our division – refreshing the neighbourhood-level amenities like Limbang and Stagmont Parks, providing more covered walkways, upgrading our lifts, and upgrading our homes through the HDB’s Home Improvement Programme.

Amidst these changes, we continue to uphold the strong kampong spirit in our community. We will always be a community that connects and cares, and where everyone belongs.

Enjoy Limbang!

New Attractions Coming Your Way

Three new attractions coming your way: Revamped Limbang Shopping Centre, Upgraded Choa Chu Kang Stadium and SAFRA Choa Chu Kang.

Inspired by the traditional Peranakan roofs, the revamped Limbang Shopping Centre will open its doors to residents in late 2022. The old façade will give way to a brand-new look and there will be more F&B and retail options.

For those who are into active lifestyles, the upgraded Choa Chu Kang Stadium and Swimming Pool awaits you with new amenities. It will reopen in phases, giving residents more options for keeping fit and healthy.

Adding to the growing list of facilities, SAFRA Choa Chu Kang – the latest addition to the SAFRA family – is set to open in 2022.

Accessibility

New transport facilities will improve accessibility in Limbang.

The upcoming Sungei Kadut MRT station will be an interchange station for the North South (NSL) and Downtown (DTL) lines. It is an above-the-ground station being developed as part of the Land Transport Master Plan 2040.

New Bus Stop for Service 974, located along the side road of KJE, has started its operation by offering greater convenience travelling to and from Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang MRT stations.

Then, there is the Stagmont Ring Community Node, one of eight “activity nodes” along the Rail Corridor linking residents to nearby social and community facilities.

Pang Sua Park Connector (Pang Sua PC) connects residents to Choa Chu Kang Park. Starting from Zhenghua Park, the Pang Sua Park Connector runs along Bukit Panjang and joins Bukit Panjang Park along the way. Pang Sua Park Connector forms part of the Western Adventure Loop, linking various park connectors, parks and nature reserves.

Villa Verde Bridge has opened. This new path will enhance accessibility for residents in the surrounding vicinity of Villa Verde. It links major recreational green areas such as Pang Sua PC, Villa Verde Park and its new extension, the Rail Corridor and Choa Chu Kang Park across Kranji Expressway.

Our Limbang Community

Our Limbang community is a microcosm of multi-racial Singapore. There are different festive events around the year – sit-down dinners and cultural performances are lined up for the residents during major festivals like Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and Deepavali.

In Limbang, we actively reach out to help vulnerable segments of our community, so that we can all move forward together.

Care Packs – We organise grocery packs distribution for the residents living at the rental blocks

Hongbao Distributions – During the year-round festive seasons, different hongbaos distributions such as CNY Hongbao Distributions, Habuan and Deepavali Hongbao Distribution are organised for the needy residents. They also receive festive goodies to enjoy during their celebrations.

Porridge Distribution – Porridge packages are given out every year during Hari Raya Haji.

Distribution With Jamiyah – Limbang partners with Jamiyah Singapore for their yearly Distribution to lower-income residents. This helps to ease their household expenses.

Chit Chats – Limbang frequently holds Chit-Chat Sessions at the void decks with residents. With the pandemic, the Chit-Chat Sessions has gone virtual with Grassroots Adviser Mr Lawrence Wong where he remains connected with residents.

We believe in being inclusive, and giving our children maximum opportunities for a brighter future.

Local Bursaries for students residing in Limbang

Extra Help for Students In Need – Through free tuition classes, the Kelas Matematika@C initiative, and we also have a mini-library at one of our RC centres.

Grant A Wish – Every year, we organise a year-end party for our rental block residents and also to give their children presents that they can all look forward to.

Brisk-Walk programmes, Seniors Go Digital, Community Physical Activity Programme – there is something in Limbang for all seniors.

Monthly brisk walks are organised at different parks in Singapore for senior residents Limbang. Some even bring their family members along for bonding sessions.

Seniors Go Digital aims to help seniors benefit from a digital lifestyle. Seniors will receive one-on-one help from the Digital Ambassadors who will guide them on skills they need to enjoy the convenience of living in a digital world.

The Limbang Active Ageing Committee (AAC) has also been collaborating with the Health Promotion Board to promote more activities for seniors.

Secure and Prepared

Health And Safety are never too far away from the minds of Limbang residents. We organise cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator courses for grassroots leaders and residents to equip them with the necessary education and skill sets to deal with a medical emergency.

Vaccination Door-to-Door exercises: In line with the National exercise to engage the seniors, Limbang volunteers from the different Grassroots Organisations assist with house visits to seniors to encourage them to take the vaccination and help those with mobility issues.
